Sunday Activities for Children and Young People

Our young people are an important part of our Church family and they are involved in the early part of the main Sunday Service as well as having an action-packed programme of their own to follow. Each young person can explore what it means to live life with Jesus and grow in faith.

Ages 2½-14

Sunday Morning Programme:

All ages join together for worship 10.30am for 15 to 20 minutes in the main Church. Primary age (and younger) children then go to the Church Hall for a shared time of worship where we celebrate together using music and movement to express our praise to Jesus.

Separate groups then explore the Bible story for the day through art and crafts, games and drama, discussion and prayer. Scripture Union materials offer a lively and varied programme grounded in clear Bible teaching. The different groups are as follows:

  • Creche: babies and children up to the age of 3
  • Bubbles: Nursery age and Foundation Year (Reception, age 3-5)
  • Splash: Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 (age 5-9)
  • XStream: Years 4 to 9 (age 8-14)

Parents and carers are welcome to share in our time of worship and you may accompany your child into a group if you wish.

X Stream

Our XStream group, for those in Years 5 - 9 (age 9-14), leaves the main service just after 11am for a short walk to rooms in a nearby building. This lively group of young people engage in discussion and activities with two leaders and return to our Church in time for the close of the service.

Crèche

A crèche is run through the morning service.

Messy Church

Run every fourth Sunday - see the messy church page for details.
