We join the nation in sadness at the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday 8th September, after a long life of service to the nation and the world.
Our thoughts are with the Royal Family, and we join with many others in praying for them and our nation at this time of profound loss. Our service this Sunday (11th) will include moments to pause and reflect on the Queen’s life. All are welcome to attend.
The Queen demonstrated a clear Christian faith through the way she lived her life, the way she fulfilled her duties, and through her words. Her life was an inspiration to many, regardless of faith or background – and for all this we are hugely grateful.
For those wanting an immediate place to go for prayer and reflection, Ely Cathedral is open on Friday and Saturday for this purpose between 10am and 4pm.
